Homemade Delicious Red Sangria Recipe

 Red sangria is a classic Spanish punch made by infusing red wine with fresh fruits, citrus juice, and a splash of brandy. It’s juicy, light, and full of flavor—ideal for summer gatherings, lazy afternoons, or anytime you want a festive drink with a fruity twist. This recipe makes about 6 servings.

Ingredients

1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Tempranillo, Merlot, or Garnacha)

¼ cup brandy (or orange liqueur like triple sec)

2 tablespoons sugar or honey (adjust to taste)

1 orange, sliced

1 lemon, sliced

1 apple, cored and chopped

½ cup orange juice (fresh if possible)

1–2 cups chilled sparkling water or club soda (for topping up)

Optional: a handful of berries or pomegranate seeds

Ice, for serving

Instructions

1. Mix the Base

In a large pitcher, pour in the wine, brandy, and orange juice.

Add sugar or honey and stir until fully dissolved.

2. Add the Fruit

Add the sliced orange, lemon, apple, and any optional berries or pomegranate seeds.

Gently stir to mix the fruit with the wine.

3. Chill and Infuse

Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.

The longer it chills, the better the fruit infuses the wine.

4. Serve

Fill glasses with ice.

Pour the sangria into each glass, spooning in some of the fruit.

Top with sparkling water or soda for a light fizz.

5. Garnish

Garnish with a fresh citrus slice or mint sprig if desired.
