2. Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

  • Β½ teaspoon salt

  • 8 oz uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces

  • 2 cups water or beef broth

  • 1 Β½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Β½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Β½ cup ricotta cheese (optional)

  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

3. Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage with onions and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.

Step 2: Add Sauce and Seasonings

Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Step 3: Add Pasta

Add broken lasagna noodles and water or broth. Stir to combine. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.

Step 4: Add Cheese

Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in half of the mozzarella and Parmesan, and dollop ricotta cheese over the top if using. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top. Cover for 2–3 minutes to allow cheese to melt.

Step 5: Serve

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot directly from the skillet.
