Balanced with banana, apple, and a splash of citrus, this smoothie is fresh, not grassy—and naturally sweet. It’s quick to make and great for breakfast, a light lunch, or an energy boost. This recipe makes 2 servings.
Ingredients
-
1 cup fresh spinach, packed
-
1 cup kale, stems removed and leaves chopped
-
1 frozen banana
-
1 green apple, cored and chopped
-
½ cup plain Greek yogurt (or non-dairy alternative)
-
¾ cup cold water or unsweetened almond milk
-
Juice of ½ lemon or 1 small orange
-
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
-
Ice cubes (3–4, for texture)
Blending
Place the spinach and kale in a blender first. Add the frozen banana, chopped apple, yogurt, lemon or orange juice, and liquid of your choice.
Blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend again until thick and chilled. Taste and add honey if you want it sweeter.
Serving
Pour into glasses and serve immediately. If you’d like, sprinkle a few chia seeds or pumpkin seeds on top for crunch.
This green smoothie is crisp, clean, and smooth—an easy way to get your greens without having to chew through a salad. It’s simple fuel for busy mornings or midday resets.
