Delicious Crêpes with Strawberries and Chocolate Sauce Recipe

Crêpes with strawberries and chocolate sauce are a light, elegant dessert (or breakfast) featuring paper-thin pancakes filled or topped with sweet, juicy strawberries and a silky drizzle of chocolate. They’re easy to make and look beautiful on the plate. This recipe makes 6 to 8 crêpes and serves 3 to 4.

Ingredients

For the Crêpes:

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1¼ cups milk

2 tablespoons melted butter or oil (plus more for cooking)

1 tablespoon sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

For the Filling and Topping:

1½ cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for macerating berries)

Whipped cream (optional)

For the Chocolate Sauce:

100g dark or milk chocolate, chopped

½ cup heavy cream or milk

1 tablespoon butter (for shine)

Instructions

1. Make the Crêpe Batter

In a bowl, whisk together flour, eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Let the batter rest for 15–30 minutes to relax the gluten (helps make tender crêpes).

2. Cook the Crêpes

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil. Pour in about ¼ cup of batter and swirl the pan to spread it into a thin layer. Cook for about 1 minute until the bottom is lightly golden, then flip and cook the other side for 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter.

3. Prep the Strawberries

Toss sliced strawberries with a bit of sugar if you’d like them sweeter and juicier. Let sit for 5–10 minutes.

4. Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat cream until just simmering. Remove from heat, add chopped chocolate and butter, and stir until smooth and glossy.

5. Assemble the Crêpes

Place a few strawberry slices inside each crêpe, fold into triangles or roll up. Drizzle generously with warm chocolate sauce and add more strawberries or whipped cream on top if you like.

6. Serve

Serve warm with extra sauce on the side.

Tips for Great Crêpes

Don’t overfill the pan—thin batter makes the best crêpes

Keep them warm by stacking on a plate covered with foil

Use a blender to mix the batter if you want it extra smooth

These crêpes are soft, fruity, and covered in rich chocolate.
