Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips

  • 1 tsp vinegar

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • Β½ tsp crushed black pepper

  • 1 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken:

    In a bowl, mix chicken strips with cornflour, all-purpose flour, egg, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Coat well and let it rest for 10–15 minutes.

  2. Fry the Chicken:

    Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. Prepare the Sauce:

    In another pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add garlic and dried red chilies, and sautΓ© until fragrant. Add sliced onions and bell peppers; stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until slightly soft but still crisp.

  4. Add the Sauces:

    Stir in soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, sugar, and crushed black pepper. Mix well and simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  5. Combine:

    Add the fried chicken strips to the sauce and toss until all pieces are coated evenly. Sprinkle chili flakes for extra heat.

    Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with fried rice, noodles, or steamed rice.
